Dodge Reportedly Building $30K SRT “Duster” Concept Car
Dodge appears to be taking a major step toward reviving affordable American performance, as new insider information suggests the automaker is actively building a concept car for the long-rumored SRT Duster — a $30,000 entry-level sports car aimed at younger enthusiasts.
According to Auto Intel Daily, the prototype is currently being assembled at the Chrysler Technical Center (CTC). The vehicle will reportedly serve as Dodge’s first “budget performance” offering under the revived SRT division.
“They’ve moved beyond clay models. This is a real concept car now,” TK reported. “Think of it like a modern SRT-4—light, quick, and actually affordable.”
The Duster name, originally tied to Plymouth, could mark a return of classic Mopar badges alongside others like Cuda and Road Runner under the SRT umbrella. Sources say the Duster may offer two powertrain options — a 2.0L Hurricane four-cylinder and a high-output inline-six variant — giving buyers flexibility between affordability and serious performance.
The move would strategically target younger drivers and rebuild brand loyalty from the ground up.
“It gives the next generation of Mopar fans a way in,” TK added. “A $30K sports car means you don’t have to be rich to own something fast with an SRT badge.”
Whether Dodge positions SRT as a standalone brand or continues integrating it across Dodge and Ram remains to be seen, but the rumored SRT Duster would mark a major return to accessible American muscle — something Dodge hasn’t offered since the Neon SRT-4 two decades ago.
