Ram Rumored to Be Developing Full-Size SUV to Rival Escalade and Expedition
It looks like Ram Trucks could be preparing to make a major move into the full-size SUV segment — potentially reviving the Ramcharger name for a new gas-powered model. According to TK’s Garage, sources inside Stellantis confirm that Ram has already built a clay model for a large three-row SUV designed to compete directly with the Chevrolet Suburban, Cadillac Escalade, and Ford Expedition.
While the current Ramcharger name is attached to the range-extended EV pickup, insiders suggest Tim Kuniskis may repurpose that badge for an SUV version sharing architecture with the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer. TK speculates the production model could use the 5.7L HEMI or 6.4L 392 HEMI, making it a true Mopar alternative to the luxury-heavy Jeep line while still fitting within Ram’s brand identity.
If the project advances, it would fill a critical gap in Ram’s lineup — offering a powerful, V8-driven, full-size SUV for loyal truck owners who want towing capability and space without switching brands. For now, it’s still early — but a physical clay model means this idea is well past the drawing board.
