2026 Ram TRX: More Horsepower, Lower Price Than Expected
Stellantis looks ready to shake up the performance truck market with the return of the Ram TRX in 2026—and insiders say it’s coming back stronger and cheaper than anticipated.
During conversations at Roadkill Nights, Ram and SRT boss Tim Kuniskis hinted that the TRX would not be outgunned by Ford’s Raptor R, which carries 720 horsepower. Now, multiple sources confirm the new TRX will deliver more power than the outgoing 702-hp version and surpass its Ford rival.
Even more surprising is the price. Internal discussions point to an MSRP starting at $82,900—far below the six-figure expectations many enthusiasts feared. For context, late-model TRXs were already selling well north of that figure, and Ford’s Raptor R currently sits higher on the pricing ladder.
The decision appears to be part of a broader Stellantis strategy to reverse sky-high pricing that has hurt sales across the lineup. Recent moves, like lowering the HEMI Durango’s base price, show the company is aware of consumer frustration. If the TRX truly returns with more power and a sub-$83K sticker, it could signal a wider reset for Ram trucks heading into 2026.
Enthusiasts will have to wait for the official reveal, but expectations are high. A more powerful, more affordable TRX could reignite Mopar’s dominance in the muscle truck wars.
