It has been a minute, but we finally have some massive Jeep news to discuss. Specifically, we have been waiting for Stellantis to get their lineup in order. Currently, they are just starting to organize the 392 Gladiators. However, my sources confirmed something even bigger is on the horizon. Finally, it appears we are getting 5.7L V8 engines in the Wrangler and Gladiator. This represents a major shift for the brand. In addition, this move signals a return to what the customers actually want.
Let’s dive into the details regarding this affordable Hemi power. Previously, enthusiasts swapped 5.7L engines into Wranglers for years on their own. Now, however, the factory is doing the work themselves. Consequently, this change makes V8 power accessible to more buyers. This is huge news for the off-road community. Furthermore, it aligns with a broader strategy shift within Stellantis.
Timeline for the 5.7L Hemi Return
Naturally, you want to know when these vehicles will arrive. According to my sources, there is a lot of Hemi product coming down the pipeline. For example, we know the Grand Cherokee is getting the 5.7L engine again. Currently, the Cherokee features the new 2.0L four-cylinder Hurricane engine. However, the V8 is definitely returning. Specifically, a 5.7L Summit Cherokee is in the works. Therefore, the V8 is not dead yet.
Regarding the Wrangler and Gladiator, the timeline is becoming clearer. Possibly, we could see these options late in the 2026 model year. However, we know they will arrive for the 2027 model year. As a result, the wait will not be too long. We are currently in December, so we are approaching 2026 very quickly. Typically, model year 2027 vehicles start popping up around August or September of next year. Thus, in about six to seven months, we could see the first 5.7L Gladiators hitting the scene.
The Push for Affordability and Regulatory Changes
Why is this happening now? The answer lies in affordability and changing regulations. Recently, the Trump administration dropped new rules regarding fuel economy standards. Consequently, Stellantis is going heavy on the Hemi again. They are focusing heavily on vehicle affordability. The administration is pushing hard to make cars affordable for the average American. Therefore, bringing back a proven, lower-cost V8 like the 5.7L is the strategy.
This is the only way they can make affordable performance happen. As a result, the company is pivoting back to what works. For a long time, the European leadership did not understand the American market. However, the board of directors is finally coming around. They realize they can actually make money on American products. Instead of forcing globalization, they are refocusing on the biggest market in the world.
Finally, they are listening to what people want to buy. Previously, the French and Italian leadership hated the Hemi. Now, however, they see the profit potential. Consequently, we are seeing a resurgence of American muscle in the lineup.
Rumors of a Massive New V8 Engine
In addition to the 5.7L news, insiders are talking about a new, massive engine. Initially, I thought this might be a 426 cubic inch engine. However, we are now hearing it might be even bigger than a 426. It makes sense because a race to build the biggest engine exists. For instance, General Motors is developing bigger V8s again. The 5.3L and 6.2L engines are evolving into larger displacements. Reportedly, they are going back to sizes like the 6.4L or similar.
Meanwhile, Ford has dropped the 7.3L Godzilla engine. Therefore, it makes sense for Stellantis to follow suit and drop something massive. I do not know the exact displacement in liters yet. However, sources suggest they are going big for certain future products. This is incredibly exciting for Mopar fans. Imagine a 7.0L plus or an 8.0L giant Hemi engine.
We already have the 6.4L and the 6.2L Hellcat. However, the Mopar faithful are clamoring for something colossal. If they drop a massive block into these trucks, it changes the game. Ultimately, I am here for it.
Channel Updates and Giveaways
On a side note, we have some housekeeping to address. Recently, we haven’t posted as much on TK’s Garage due to monetization issues. Ever since the channel got hit, we focused more on Auto Intel Daily. However, we are still posting here and maintaining our sponsors. Consequently, we will continue to bring you news on this channel. Moving forward, a majority of content might shift to Auto Intel Daily. We might even rebrand it as TK’s Garage 2.
Furthermore, our giveaways are still very much alive. We have a Ram 1500 giveaway with Goodies Popcorn. Additionally, we have a Ram 2500 Big Horn giveaway with OBD Tech. Currently, OBD Tech has launched 400X entries. This promotion is live until Friday or until they sell out of entry posts. If you want a Ram 2500, now is the time to enter. You can check it out at our website. Overall, it is going to be a jam-packed week.
In conclusion, sources confirmed the return of the 5.7L Hemi to the Wrangler and Gladiator for 2027. Affordability and new regulations are driving this exciting change. Meanwhile, rumors of a massive new V8 continue to swirl. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to that August 2026 reveal window. As always, stay petty, my friends.
