We are ending the week on a positive note regarding the potential to legalize diesel deletes. Specifically, President Trump has reached out to Sean Duffy and the EPA administrator. His goal is to push for a redefinition of the “end of life” or “useful life” of emission systems. Consequently, these specific phrases are key words when it comes to the future of diesel vehicles. If the administration successfully moves to legalize diesel deletes, it would fundamentally change truck ownership. Ultimately, the question remains: is the President about to open the door to legalize diesel deletes for your vehicle? In my opinion, it is going to happen sooner than you think.
Redefining Useful Life for Emissions
The President has formally reached out to the DOT secretary and the EPA administrator. Respectfully, he wants them to look at what the “useful life” of these emission systems actually is. However, this action is not happening in a vacuum. This move is partially because a senator from Wyoming has pushed the President hard on this issue. Specifically, this senator is getting behind and pushing the Diesel Truck Liberation Act. As a result, this legislation aims to reduce federal overreach.
This proposed act would make it illegal for the government to even regulate emission systems on diesel trucks. Therefore, it would make it 100% completely legal for you to put your truck on a “weight loss plan.” In other words, you could “Jenny Craig” your diesel truck without legal repercussions. Meaning, you would be able to take off the EGR. Furthermore, you could remove the DEF. In addition, you could delete the DPF. Basically, you could remove whatever you want off the system and then tune it appropriately. With the signing of that bill, you would legally be able to do that instantly.

Executive Action and Long-Term Stability
It would strip away many different provisions that overreach with the Clean Air Act. Consequently, the change would be huge. However, the President is also looking at taking executive action here. Now, I know what you might say. “That is only going to be good as long as he is in office.” However, the way the auto manufacturers are looking at it right now suggests otherwise.
Automakers view the policies Trump is currently enacting as stable for the long term. Specifically, they believe these rules will remain for four to eight years after he leaves office. For this reason, they think JD Vance will likely be the next President of the United States. Therefore, if you keep those policies in line, nothing changes for at least 4 to 12 years. During that time, it allows the auto manufacturers to do what they need to do. As a result, they can make their money on it.
Maybe 12 years from now, something changes. Perhaps a Democrat gets in and tries to change everything with emission systems. However, at that point, it would be difficult. I feel like it would be too hard and cost-prohibitive for them to do it. Consequently, I do not think it would happen.
Rolling Back Regulations
What does this mean for the current landscape? Significantly, it means the President is starting to listen to senators providing this critical information. This input is a big reason why the President has rolled back CAFE standards. Additionally, it is why he has rolled back fuel economy standards. Ultimately, they had no other option but to do that.
Making these deletes legal would be a massive shift. At the very least, allowing consumers to remove these systems if they want to is significant. I think this would be such a positive action by the President. Furthermore, it would be a politically positive move.
Some critics might say, “It only thanks a small group, TK. It really would not matter.” However, you would be surprised. I think you would be genuinely surprised at how many people would like to avoid dealing with diesel exhaust fluid. Above all, people are tired of the maintenance. I have heard the argument that they need to focus on the EGR, not the DEF. I think you go at it in stages, just like they have been doing.
Reversing the Endangerment Finding
The EPA is about to reverse the endangerment finding. We should see that happen any day now. Likely, it happens Monday. However, you see all of this stuff happening in succession. It is going via Congressional Review Act legislation. Then, we see executive orders. Following that, we see more legislation. It keeps going down that line.
Therefore, you have to keep hitting it from that point. Because it makes it harder and harder for the other side to flip it back the other way. I will leave the question to you. Do you think the President entrusting this to Lee Zeldin and Sean Duffy will work? Do you think they will do it?
Because I think they do. I think Sean Duffy and Lee Zeldin are probably two of the hardest working individuals in the cabinet. This is evident in what they are already achieving. That is just my opinion. You do not have to agree with it. But I do want to know what you guys think in the comments section down below.
Ram 1500 and Ram 2500 Giveaway Updates
Speaking of trucks, we currently have the wrap-up for our giveaways. Specifically, it is Friday if you are seeing this video. Consequently, it is the end of the 400X entries. It will end at 3:00 a.m. Saturday on the East Coast. That is 12 midnight Pacific time.
This deadline applies to the 400X entries on the OBD Tech Ram 2500 Big Horn. It also applies to the Goodies Popcorn entries. However, it could end up selling out. We know there are only three left for the Ram 2500. Additionally, there are only a few left for the popcorn. I think there are maybe 10 or 12 left of the Goodies Popcorn 400X packages. You guys crushed those yesterday.
If you want to win a 1500 Ram Laramie with all the bells and whistles, you can do that. You can enter through Goodies Popcorn with their 400X entries. Alternatively, you could do it with OBD Tech and their 400X entries on a heavy-duty Ram 2500. Note that the Ram 2500 features the gas engine, not diesel. You can do that over at the website listed in the video description. Again, that ends tonight at midnight. Then you will see the different products that they have there. Go to their regular respective entries.
That is going to do it for me today. Thank you guys very much for watching. I truly appreciate it. And as always, stay petty, my friends.
